Urgent Help Needed!

St. Mary's Hospital has changed how they list people in the hospital for clergy. Now the list has to be run by zip code and United Methodist. This will be an eight-list minimum to run and will tie up staff longer that it should. The last several years, the pastor could ask for a list of United Methodists and then check for people in the hospital from our churches.

Therefore, I need phone calls so I can make sure I do not miss anyone, Please do not assume that someone else has called. I also could easily miss someone who lives outside the main zip codes.

I really appreciate those who take the time to call to let me know and give me updates. This helps our churches share the love of Christ when I can visit those in the hospital in a timely manner. Thanks!

Pastor Clayton

This Week's Sermon Topic
for all churches

"Attractions or Distractions" Luke 10:38-42

It is a familiar story, Jesus is coming to dinner. Martha is distracted by the many household tasks but Mary is attracted to what Jesus is saying. Mary sits at His feet but Martha fusses over setting the table. Martha asks for help but Jesus reminds her of the better part. When we are given the opportunity to entertain Jesus what will be our response? Do we feel an attraction to the words of Jesus or do we become distracted by worrisome tasks?

Summertime is a time for simply pleasures. Jesus invites us to simply enjoy the benefits of His grace. Jesus would prefer we say grace over a simply meal than to spend elaborate preparations without acknowledging the grace of God in our life. Regardless of where we are, let us listen to the words of Jesus.

Patoka worship begins at 8:20 Sunday morning. Boulder worship begins at 9:45 Sunday and Friday is movie night at 7:00pm the movie is "The Wager" featuring Randy Travis. Free popcorn and drinks are provided. Sandoval worship is at 10:45 Sunday.

All Men's Banquet

July 11th at noon be at the Sandoval Fellowship Hall for the Men Banquet. This will be the coolest place for you and the other "guys" in your life. We will be asking for a count on July 4th from the churches so we can be prepared (you know how men can eat,) so if you wish, you can call Carole Jourdan or Amy Merten by July 8th so we can be prepared. We want to honor the men in our lives and all they do. See you there!
